Book anniversary & new books to know about!

Hi Reader,

Happy Spring! I hope you're enjoying the nicer weather and emerging flowers in your area, too (and probably with a dose of daily antihistamine, right?).

Here's what I'm sharing in this month's email:

  • Links to AAAAI conference recaps
  • May Contain Anxiety book news & upcoming events
  • Two new food allergy-specific books you need to know about

AAAAI Conference:

I recently attended and presented at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Annual Meeting, where I was reminded to stay hopeful because research continues to uncover more information about allergic diseases, leading to better understanding and more potential treatments for these conditions.

Here are links to some recap articles from that conference:

Book News & Events:

As of today, May Contain Anxiety has been out for 6 months! And on its 6 month publication anniversary, I want to thank YOU!

  • Thank you for reading it.
  • Thank you for supporting and sharing it.
  • Thank you for letting me know how it helped you or your patients.

I've heard from people worldwide who have read the book and found it helpful, and I can't tell you how much that means to me. Yes, just publishing a book is exciting, but hearing how it impacts people is what is most meaningful!

If you've been meaning to grab a copy, there's no time like the present to do so! It's still available worldwide in print, e-book, and audiobook. AND, it's showing up in more and more libraries!

And if you've already read it and felt it resonated with you and was helpful, PLEASE CONSIDER helping others learn about it by:

  • LEAVING A RATING AND/OR REVIEW on Amazon, Goodreads, or wherever you bought it - this really helps a book's visibility so more people find it
  • TELLING OTHERS ABOUT IT - posting about it online, or just mentioning it to other families and even your allergist

Again - THANK YOU! It's because of YOU ALL that this book has helped so many families already! I truly appreciate your continued support, which will help more families continue to find it.

Hi Reader, Happy 2026! As I always do, I’ve been easing into the new year by choosing a guiding word instead of a long list of resolutions. My word for 2026 is connected—being connected to my family, my work, and the moments that too easily get rushed past. And I know that being more connected often goes hand-in-hand with having a better balance, clearer boundaries, and giving myself permission to say no when something doesn’t align, so I'll be recommitting to these actions, too. As we step...

Hi Reader, I hope my final email of 2025 finds you and yours looking forward to (or already enjoying) the holiday season. Yes, navigating the holiday season with food allergies can evoke many emotions, including grief, sadness, and anxiety. Yet even when those emotions are present, we can still connect with joy. The joy of seeing someone smile when you give them a gift. The joy of observing excitement on children's faces. The joy of slowing down and reconnecting with friends and loved ones....

Hi Reader, If you've read the last couple of Allergy Counseling Zone emails, you already know that I'm in the full swing of fall conference season, presenting to both provider and patient populations throughout North America this fall. That means my conference prep is your gain! Having already looked at the impacts food allergy has on key development and functioning within individuals and families in the last couple of emails, let's look through the third and final lens: the systems lens....
